Wazif (Spiritual Practices)

Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi subhanallahil azim

Glory be to Allah and praise Him, glory be to Allah the Supreme.

Benefit: Protection from hardships, sins forgiven, and weight in scales on Judgment Day

Astaghfirullaha al-azim allazi la ilaha illa huwal hayyul qayyum wa atubu ilayh

I seek forgiveness from Allah the Supreme, there is no god but Him, the Living, the Self-Subsisting, and I turn to Him in repentance.

Benefit: Forgiveness of sins, relief from anxiety, sustenance increase, and strength

Bismillahillazi la yadurru ma'asmihi shay'un fil ardi wa la fis sama'i wa huwas sami'ul alim

In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing can cause harm on earth or in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

Benefit: Protection from all harm, evil eye, and calamities

Ya Wadud ya zal arshil majid, ya fa''ala lima yurid, as'aluka bi'izzatikal lati la turamu wa mulkikal lazi la yufanu wa nurikal lazi mala'a arkanaka arshika an tarzuqani rizqan wasi'an halalan tayyiban min rizqikal wasi'

O Loving One, O Owner of the Glorious Throne, O Doer of whatever He wills, I ask You by Your invincible might, Your everlasting kingdom, and Your light that fills the pillars of Your throne, to grant me abundant lawful sustenance from Your vast provision.

Benefit: Increase in sustenance and opening of doors of provision

Rabbi inni lima anzalta ilayya min khairin faqir

My Lord, I am truly in need of whatever good You may send down to me.

Benefit: For finding a suitable spouse and removing obstacles in marriage

Allahumma rabban nas adhhibil bas ishfi antash shafi la shifa illa shifa'uk shifa'an la yughadiru saqaman

O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the harm and cure, for You are the Curer. There is no cure except Your cure, a cure that leaves no trace of illness.

Benefit: Cure from all illnesses and diseases

Rabbishrah li sadri wa yassir li amri wahlul uqdatam min lisani yafqahu qawli

My Lord, open my chest for me, ease my task for me, and remove the impediment from my speech so they may understand what I say.

Benefit: Clear thinking, memory enhancement, and success in exams

Ala bizikrillahi tatma'innal qulub

Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.

Benefit: Inner peace, tranquility, and removal of anxiety

Rabbi la tazarni farda wa anta khairul warithin

My Lord, do not leave me alone, and You are the best of inheritors.

Benefit: For having children and family happiness

Allahumma ikfini bihalalika an haramik wa aghnini bifadlika amman siwak

O Allah, suffice me with what is lawful from what is unlawful, and enrich me with Your bounty from everyone other than You.

Benefit: Freedom from debt and financial difficulties

A'uzu bikalimatillahit tammati min sharri ma khalaq

I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.

Benefit: Protection from jinn, magic, and all evil

La ilaha illallahul halimul karim, la ilaha illallahul aliyyul azim, subhanallahi rabbil arshil azim, alhamdu lillahi rabbil alamin

There is no god but Allah, the Forbearing, the Generous. There is no god but Allah, the High, the Supreme. Glory be to Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.

Benefit: Fulfillment of important needs and desires

A'uzu billahi minash shaytanir rajiim

I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan.

Benefit: Immediate calming of anger and control of emotions

Allahumma barik lana fima razaqtana

O Allah, bless us in what You have provided us.

Benefit: Increase in blessings and sustenance

Subhanal lazi sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin wa inna ila rabbina lamunqalibun

Glory be to Him Who has brought this under our control, for we could never have accomplished it by ourselves. And to our Lord surely we are to return.

Benefit: Safe journey and protection during travel

Allahumma inni a'uzu bika minal hammi wal hazan wal ajazi wal kasal

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry, grief, incapacity, and laziness.

Benefit: Removal of sadness, depression, and anxiety

Rabbi zidni ilma

My Lord, increase me in knowledge.

Benefit: Increase in knowledge, wisdom, and understanding

A'uzu bikalimatillahit tammah min kulli shaytanin wa hammah wa min kulli ayyin lammah

I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and poisonous reptile, and from every evil eye.

Benefit: Protection from evil eye and jealousy

Allahumma inni as'alukal huda wat tuqa wal afafa wal ghina

O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and self-sufficiency.

Benefit: Success in business and financial independence

Rabbighfir li wa liwalidayya wa lilmu'minina yauma yaqumul hisab

My Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers on the Day the account is established.

Benefit: Forgiveness and mercy for parents and oneself
